Jacki Clymer, STEM Coordinator for QCSD, helped to develop the proposed Connecting Communities Through Cosmic Careers panel session based on collaboration between the district, the company Streamable Learning, and the Moonshot Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. The collaboration led to the opportunity for students at the Sixth Grade Center to take a virtual field trip to the Moonshot Museum through Streamable Learning.
In addition, Quakertown Community High School students attended a live stream titled Cosmic Careers during which they went behind the scenes to see real spacecraft under construction, traced the journey of a robotic lunar lander from concept to reality, and traveled to the lunar surface through astronomy visualization software ā all in the context of learning about a wide array of careers available in the space industry today. This collaboration will be the subject of the proposed SXSW panel discussion.
